Aireborough & Wharfedale Judo Club News 07/12/01 - AWJudo.com Launched The
Judo Club has recently obtained the internet domain name of awjudo.com. This
means that it is now even easier to navigate to our site by simply typing into
your Internet Explorer address box 'www.awjudo.com'. It is still possible to
get onto the web site using the old address. 27/11/01 - Christmas Break The
last judo session before Christmas will be Thursday 20th December. The junior
sessions on Monday 17th and Thursday 20th December will be games sessions.
Judo will resume on Monday 7th January 2002. 13/11/01 - Adam Firth competes in National Championships Adam
Firth has been selected to represent the Yorkshire & Humberside area in
the 2001 National Judo Championships which was held on the 10th/11th November
at Crystal Palace. Adam competed in the under 55kg category and won one of his
contests, narrowly lost another and unfortunately had to retire from his third
due to an injury. It is a great honor to be selected to compete in the
national championships and this is the third time Adam has been selected.
Congratulations Adam. 09/11/01 - Gold Medal Success For A&W Team A
team from Aireborough & Wharfedale Judo Club have recently won gold medals
in the Yorkshire & Humberside Team Championships. The team, comprising of
Grant Cresswell (-42kg), Simon Cresswell (-46kg), Thomas Cresswell (-50kg),
Adam Firth (-55kg) and Ben Clayton (+55kg) in the boys category and Sara Firth
(-48kg) in the girls category came first after winning five rounds in the
competition which was held at Hillsborough, Sheffield on Sunday 4th November.
Congratulations to all who took part. 08/11/01 - A&W Judo Web Page Created The
Aireborough & Wharfedale Judo club has been dragged "kicking and
screaming" into the 21st century with it's new web page! This page will
be updated regularly with news and information about the club together with
images of some of our members and training sessions.
